Sabalana Island, Flores Sea, June 25, 2016

Sabalana Island, Indonesia Saturday June 25

Today was a very relaxing day - we all took advantage of the later start and after lunch had a short ride to this small island. A small friendly population lives on the island in clean wooden houses on stilts.

There was also brick and mortar primary school building. It was built with Australian donations.

The children all posed for photos wherever we went.

The white sandy beach provided us a great opportunity to both swim and snorkel on a beautiful reef.

The reef that surrounds the island is a colourful collection of many types hard corals. Many different small types of vibrantly coloured tropical fish were swimming and feeding along the reef. I only wish that I had a camera that could take photos underwater.
