This is new venue that the
ship introduced, since the port of Semporna is now considered a safety risk. It
is the 3rd largest city in Sabah and located on the South- Eastern
coast of Malaysian Borneo.
We walked along a market specially
set up for Ramadan (Bazaar Ramadan local open market) to allow the Muslim
population to purchase their food supplies for the evening after fasting all
day.
Amazing dishes, local
homemade delicacies and special drinks were being sold in specially constructed
stalls and cooking tents. The smells and foods were most appealing.
We then visited a small local
chocolate and cocoa-processing factory that discussed their world-class
agricultural, production and manufacturing methods providing material to a global
customer base including Nestle, Mars Corporation together with local products
under their Hoko brand.
